Gina Gobeyn serves as the Executive Director of the PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC), where she leads the organization’s strategic direction, oversees daily operations, and manages the senior leadership team and staff.

During her more than 25-year career, Gina has established a reputation for building robust programs in cybersecurity risk management, incident response, payment security, fraud mitigation, and regulatory compliance.

Before joining PCI SSC, Gina spent 17 years at Discover Financial Services, most recently as Chief Risk Management Officer for the company’s global payments business. In this role, she led Payment Security, Fraud Risk Management, Payment Partner and Transaction Compliance functions for the Discover Global Network.

Gina has been closely involved with PCI SSC since its inception, serving as a founding member of its Executive Committee during her time at Discover. She also represented Discover on the Federal Reserve System’s Secure Payments Taskforce. Earlier in her career, she held cybersecurity leadership roles at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, Aon, and Internet Security Systems (now IBM).

Gina is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and holds an Executive MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
