SUMMARY

Reporting directly to the PCI Security Standards Council’s Executive Director, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of engagement and collaboration with key stakeholders, including payment networks, financial institutions, merchants, service providers, and regulatory bodies. This role requires oversight of the development and implementation of the strategy and supporting programs to grow and maintain the PCI Community and Participation Organizations’ commitment to the PCI SSC. You are responsible for enhancing the operating model to engage stakeholders in the process of developing, approving, and driving adoption of PCI SSC products. Additionally, in the role you are accountable for global communication strategies to improve industry awareness and lead the corporate communications and government relations efforts to ensure effective dissemination of company core messaging. As a PCI SSC leader, you are instrumental in executing on the PCI Mission to enhance global payment account data security by developing standards and supporting services that drive education, awareness, and effective implementation by stakeholders, and fostering a PCI SSC culture of collaboration, accountability, integrity, trust, and respect.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Strategy & Leadership:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive engagement strategy to promote the adoption of payment card standards and increase industry participation and knowledge.
  • Provide strategic direction, including creating a roadmap, and guidance to the engagement team to enhance collaboration and alignment with industry stakeholders.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for partnerships and alliances to strengthen industry-wide security standards.
  • Direct the corporate communications and public relations teams.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with PCI Community and stakeholders, including payment networks, affiliates, financial institutions, merchants, service providers, associations and standards bodies and global regulatory bodies.
  • Responsible for the recruitment, retention, and satisfaction of Participation Organization stakeholders.
  • Develop operations model for enhancing the engagement of stakeholders in the process of developing, approving, and driving adoption of PCI SSC products.
  • Facilitate dialogue and collaboration among stakeholders to address industry challenges and drive consensus on best practices.
  • Lead Global team responsible for acting as regional trusted advisors to stakeholders, providing awareness, education and support in the promotion and adoption of PCI SSC standards and programs.
  • Develop strategies for PCI SSC to host Community Meetings, forums and regulatory sessions.

Industry Advocacy:

  • Represent the organization in industry forums, conferences, and working groups to promote payment account security standards and security initiatives.
  • Develop education to meet regulatory requirements and to support stakeholder groups
  • Stay informed about emerging trends and developments in the payment card industry to provide strategic insights and thought leadership.

Team Management:

  • Provide Leadership and guidance to the engagement & education team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Set performance goals, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide coaching and development opportunities

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
    20+ years of experience in the payment card industry, with a focus on standards and security compliance operations.
  • Proven track record of successful stakeholder engagement and collaboration.
  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills, able to drive consensus in cross-regional and cross-functional teams and present complex ideas to multiple levels across organizations.
  • History of success with internal and external client-facing roles, with proven skills communicating with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to present complex concepts and solutions to executives and committees.
  • Successful track record chairing working groups and leading projects to completion with diverse stakeholders.
  • Capable of creating thoughtful, well written communications suitable for executive management.
  • Experience working in a global environment, cultural sensitivity, and an ability to share expertise with others in the business.
  • Demonstrated integrity and professionalism, and experience managing sensitive information with strong discretion.
  • Strong understanding of financial services landscape and regulatory environment.
  • Strategic leader and analytic thinker who looks for creative solutions and can balance big picture strategy and detailed, flawless execution.
  • Position may be located anywhere in United States near a major metropolitan airport

The minimum starting salary for this role is $275,000 USD annually, plus bonus. Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience, and other job-related factors.
