PCI Security Standards Council Hires Patrick Burke to Lead Business Operations

Experienced Financial Executive to assume Director of Business Operations Role

WAKEFIELD, Mass., 26 May 2021 — The PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) announced the hiring of Patrick Burke as Director of Business Operations at the PCI SSC.  In his role, Patrick will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the PCI SSC including development and maintenance of financial, Human Resources (HR) and corporate governance processes.

“We are excited to have someone with Patrick’s background and experience to lead our business operations,” said Lance Johnson, Executive Director of the PCI SSC.  “Patrick’s strong operational skills and deep knowledge of business processes management make him an invaluable addition to our organization.”

Burke’s background as an accomplished financial executive includes experience in international tax, project management, customer & vendor negotiations and international real estate management.  Since 2011 he has held a senior leadership role at Charles River, a State Street Corporation where he most recently held the title of Senior Manager of Tax and Corporate Real Estate.

“I am excited with this new challenge and look forward to being a part of this forward-thinking organization, said Burke.  “The PCI SSC is considered the gold standard in creating a global forum that brings together payments industry stakeholders to develop and drive adoption of data security standards and resources for safe payments worldwide.  I look forward to being an integral part of this global team.”

Burke will officially start his new role on June 1, 2021 and will report directly to the Executive Director.

Burke is married with two children.  He loves playing golf and rooting for his alma mater Connecticut Huskies men’s and women’s basketball teams.
