PCI Security Standards Council Hires Tracey Long to Lead Programs

Long time security expert to assume Vice President of Programs responsibility

WAKEFIELD, Mass., August 1, 2022 — The PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) announced the hiring of Tracey Long as Vice President, Programs at the PCI SSC. In her role, Tracey will be responsible for leading the programs, program operations, training, and program quality management activities for the company. This role will have direct oversight of the Council’s certification programs, where individuals and assessor companies are verified as meeting minimum competency requirements and are listed on a PCI SSC website.

“We are excited to have someone with Tracey’s payment industry expertise, work experience and connection to the PCI SSC to lead in this key role,” said Lance Johnson, Executive Director of the PCI SSC. “Tracey’s private sector background and service on the PCI SSC’s Board of Advisors makes her uniquely qualified for this important leadership job. She has the ideal experience to lead in this key position.”

Tracey’s career background includes work as the Global Strategy Lead & Subject Matter Expert for PCI Standards Programs at WorldPay from FIS. In that role, Tracey was responsible globally for the strategic approach of merchant cyber security (PCI DSS) programs. She was the organization’s subject matter expert on all PCI SSC programs for internal and external stakeholders. She also served on the PCI SSC’s Board of Advisors (BoA). Prior to working at WorldPay, Tracey was at Barclaycard where she was a Payment Security Manager for small merchants. Tracey began her career in law enforcement as a Police Constable for the Bedfordshire police department.

I am excited to be here and look forward to this challenge.”

Tracey officially started her new role on July 18, 2022. In her new role, she will also serve on the PCI SSC senior leadership team.

Tracey lives in Cumbria UK. She holds a master’s degree in Management in International Payments Ecosystem from Middlesex University. When not working, Tracey likes to spend time with her two French Bulldog’s, and husband hiking in the Cumbrian Fells. When Tracey is not hiking, you will find her in the kitchen baking cakes, or relaxing with her family and friends.
