Ed O’Neill serves as Head of Business Operations and Risk Management for the PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC), providing executive leadership for business operations, governance, and enterprise risk functions in support of trusted and effective global operations.

Ed has more than 20 years of leadership experience in risk management, payment security, governance, and operational transformation in the global financial services and payments industry. Before joining PCI SSC, he was Vice President of the Global Payment Network Risk Office at Capital One, where he led programs to manage operational, regulatory, payment security, and business risks across Discover Network, PULSE, and Diners Club International.

Previously, Ed held leadership roles with the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, PULSE, and Discover Network, where he managed programs focused on strengthening global risk management and compliance, governance oversight, and payment network operations.

Ed holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Loyola University of Chicago.
