PCI Security Standards Council Announces 2019-2020 Advisory Board

New Board Taps Expert Industry Leaders to Help Advance Payment Security Globally

WAKEFIELD, MA., 24 January 2019 — The PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) announced the newly elected 2019-2020 Board of Advisors. The PCI SSC works with organizations around the globe to help secure payment data, and this latest Board of Advisors brings together some of the world’s leading companies from all sectors in the payments space; from Vendors to Merchants, Processors to Banks and other relevant associations and organizations.

The Board of Advisors represents the Council’s Participating Organizations (PO’s) worldwide to ensure global industry involvement in the development of PCI Security Standards. As strategic partners, they bring market, geographical and technical insight to PCI Council plans and projects.

PCI SSC Executive Director Lance J. The PCI SSC regularly solicits and incorporates feedback from the entire payment ecosystem – including merchants, vendors, payment processors, financial institutions, and trade associations. We all share the same goal of securing payment data globally. We at the Council are grateful for the Advisors willingness to serve, commitment to improving payment security and we look forward to their active involvement.”

PCI SSC International Director – Europe Jeremy King, said, “New payment methods are coming online at an ever-increasing rate, which his great for consumers, but creates new opportunities for cybercriminals. The PCI Security Standards Council will host its annual Community Meetings later this year in Canada, Ireland, and Australia. The North American conference will be held in Vancouver, Canada Sept 17-19, 2019 and the European Community Meeting will be in Dublin, Ireland Oct. 22-24, 2019 and the Asia- Pacific Community Meeting will be in Melbourne, Australia Nov. 20-21, 2019. At the meetings payment and security experts from around the world will discuss global trends in cybercrime, cyber security best practices and much more. The Council invites all who are interested in cybersecurity to get involved and join the PCI community.
